UBM senior management change
02 November
Steve Weitzner, Chief Executive Officer of CMP Technology since September 2005, has stepped down from his role with immediate effect and a search for his successor has been initiated. Steve will take on a new role leading CMP Technology's international acquisition and business development in the increasingly important Indian, European and Chinese markets.
Over the course of his 23 year career with CMP, Steve has been promoted from his roots as an editor to publisher, COO and finally CEO. As CEO, Steve has been instrumental in managing two years of rapid development in which United Business Media made $200 million of acquisitions and fundamentally restructured CMP Technology and its portfolio.
David Levin, Chief Executive Officer of United Business Media Plc said:
"Steve has led CMP's evolution from its print roots towards becoming a market-leading, next generation Web 2.0 media company that can boast of its strong online communities, the world's largest portfolio of b2b events, leading print brands, innovative workflow tools and a host of other products and services. The financial performance of the business has improved significantly over the past two years as a result of a series of important acquisitions and changes in the operating cost base of the company. I would like to thank Steve for his contributions to CMP and wish him well in his new role with the group."
